JUST IN: POTUS nominating another North Carolina politician in administration

Good morning! It's a new day and a new month...May 1. This is Christine Nelson. I wanted to personally send you this email to give you a first look at the stories we're covering on WBTV News This Morning. So tune in from 4:30-7:00 a.m. and let us get you caught up on the news of the day.

Happening today:

President Obama will be naming another North Carolina politician to his administration. It has been rumored that U.S. Representative Mel Watt has been on the short list to head the agency that will oversee Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The president is supposed to be announcing that today. We'll tell what Watt's responsibilities would be.

We got our hands on the interview with the man who was carjacked by the alleged Boston Marathon bombing suspects. He talks about the bombs the suspects loaded in his car and the gun they pointed to his head during the carjacking.

Plus, money is what makes a lot of things possible. Unfortunately it's standing in the way of a local group of students who have a once in a lifetime chance to perform in front of thousands of people. WBTV's Astrid Martinez has their story and what the community can do to help.

Also, the latest on the complaint that the greens at the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte are not up to par!

We're on the air now. Tune in!
