The Ohio State Highway
Patrol Bowling Green Post is currently investigating a fatal traffic crash that
occurred today at approximately 5:18 p.m. on US 6 at the I-75
northbound on-ramp in Center Township, Wood County.
Kalena Kuhnle, 22, of
Bowling Green, was driving a 2010 Kia Forte. Kuhnle sustained minor injuries as a
result of the crash and was transported to the hospital. Matthew Blodgett, 27, was a passenger in the vehicle, but did not sustain injuries.
Dean Martin, 48, of
Findlay, was driving a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Martin sustained serious injuries as a
result of the crash and was flown from the scene to the hospital. Martin was later pronounced deceased at the hospital as a result of the
Kuhnle was driving eastbound on US 6
at the on-ramp for I-75. Martin was driving westbound on US 6 at the on-ramp to 75. Kuhnle was attempting to turn left onto
the on-ramp and failed to yield the right of way to Martin. Martin struck Kuhnle's vehicle,
ejecting Martin from the motorcycle.
Both vehicles went off the north side of US 6 and Martin came to
rest under Kuhnle's vehicle.
assisted at the scene by the Wood County Sheriff's Office, Wright's Towing, Mid
County EMS, Life-Flight, Center Township Fire Department, and the Wood County
Park Rangers. Both occupants of the Forte were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Martin was wearing a helmet.
Alcohol use is unknown at
this time and the crash remains under investigation.
