CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Investigators say a man was thrown from his 1966 Mustang and killed when he collided with another car during a heavy downpour in south Charlotte.

32-year old Demond Strothers lost control on a drenched Arrowood Road and slammed head-on into a Honda accord.

Strothers was not wearing a seat-belt.

Witnesses say speed and alcohol may also have contributed to the wreck.

Two other people were hurt...but they are expected to survive.
