A Honduras man will be deported after serving time for a sex offense charge he was convicted of Friday, according to a release from the District Attorney's Office.
Luis Gustavo Licona Rosales, 42, of Morganton, was convicted of two counts of felony statutory sex offense after a four-day trial in Burke County Criminal Superior Court.
The jury deliberated for approximately two and a half hours prior to returning the verdicts of guilty.
Rosales was sentenced to no less than 320 months and no more than 402 months in the North Carolina Division of Adult Correction. Upon his release, Rosales, a citizen of Honduras, will be deported.
Officials say the offenses occurred in June and August of 2011 in the city of Morganton.
Rosales will be transported to Central Prison in Raleigh for processing.
