Appalachian State University provides counseling after student's death

BOONE, NC (WBTV) -

Campus Police at Appalachian State University confirmed to WBTV a student died early Wednesday afternoon.

A 19-year-old female, freshman student was found dead inside a campus residence hall, but campus police said foul play is not suspected. 

Appalachian State University is providing counseling to friends and anyone on campus who was affected by the teenage student's death.

A memorial book will be available for signing at Plemmons Student Union on campus beginning Friday afternoon.

The book will be sent to student's family as an expression of the university's concern and care for them. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
