TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Toledo Police are still looking for a man who caused a deadly accident Sunday afternoon.

Police say it was just before 5 p.m. on Sunday when a stolen SUV barreled through the intersection at Western Avenue and Marion. According to them, the Chevy Tahoe was traveling east on Western at a high speed. It clipped the rear fender of a car, then veered left of center and struck a Chevy Blazer head-on.

In the Blazer was 57-year-old James Steele, Sr., his wife Lillian, and their grandson. Lillian and their grandson were injured. James Steele died a few hours later in the hospital.

"It seems surreal," said James' son Adam. "I mean, what did my dad do to deserve this?"

The family's grief was made even worse by what happened next. Officers say the driver who caused the accident jumped out of the Tahoe and fled on foot. He has not been found.

"They killed my father and they fled the scene," Adam said. "There is no words that can describe what we are going through right now."

Adam describes his father as a "Mr. Fix-it," who would help anybody, anytime. He loved country and western music, and singing. Now his family wants justice.

"Step up, be a man," Adam said. "Take what comes to you, and I can't ask for anything else."

Anyone with information on the accident or the suspect, call Crimestopper at 419-255-1111.
