The Ardrey Kell Knights have a stacked baseball roster this year, full of talented student athletes, but one sticks out for different reasons.
Outfielder Foster Machicote has been playing baseball his entire life, but it's not all he does. The Junior taught himself how to play the guitar and piano, and if that's not enough, taught himself to dance. While juggling academics and baseball, he also teaches kids to dance on the weekend.
Coach Hal Bagwell feels blessed to have Machicote on the roster, and Machicote pretty close to the same feeling, calls the team a second family.
Machicote said his Dad is his biggest inspiration, and when his Dad, Joe, heard this, he gave credit to Foster's Mom. Machicote's Mom passed away last March after a long battle with cancer.
The 16 year old wears a ring engraved with his Mom's favorite saying, "Live, laugh, love," a reminder to keep living every day to the fullest, and he's doing just that.
