"All Clear" given at Salisbury VA after bomb threat, evacuation

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

Officials in Salisbury gave the "All Clear" at the Salisbury VA at shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday.

They were investigating a bomb threat that was called in at the William G. "Bill" Hefner Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salisbury.
 
Hefner VA spokesperson Carol Waters told WBTV that a bomb threat had been called in at Building Four at approximately 9:15 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Buildings four and 11 were evacuated as a precaution.

Building Four is Inpatient Mental Health Care and Building 11 is Outpatient Mental Health.
 
"We are taking this threat very seriously," Waters wrote.  "Our police officers along with local authorities are searching the premises.  We are in the process of fully evacuating buildings 4 and 11.   All measures to protect our patients, visitors and staff are being taken."

At 10:50 a.m., the Salisbury VA reported normal operations had resumed, following the "all clear" from authorities."
