Police looking for man who robbed cab driver with knife

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man they say robbed a cab driver with a knife.

On Friday, April 5, just before 10 p.m., a cab driver picked up the man on the 6500 block of Wisteria Drive in south Charlotte. The man then pulled a knife and forced the driver to drive to several ATM's in an attempt to withdraw money, the report states.

The robber then grabbed the victim's cell phone and left the cab on foot. The cab driver was not injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6'0", with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a white hoodie and blue jeans.
