YORK COUNTY, SC (WBTV) -

Deputies in York County are investigating after a woman says her ex-boyfriend saw her with another man and forced their car off the road after firing a gun at them.

According to a York County Sheriff's report, officers were call to the 3700 block of Saluda Road, in Rock Hill, early Saturday morning to the report of a possible shooting. When deputies arrived they found a wrecked vehicle along the side of the road.

A 25-year-old Clover man told deputies that he and Brittney Shonteza Sanders, 26, were together when her ex-boyfriend, 29-year-old Lidarius Devra Gains, saw them at an apartment complex in Rock Hill.

Gains was arrested in Charlotte on Wednesday and is being held at the Mecklenburg County Jail awaiting extradition back to York County.

When the pair left the apartment in Sanders' Nissan Maxima, Muhammad says Gains began to chase them with his BMW 740.

During the chase, Gains attempted to run them off the road, deputies say. The two vehicles never collided, but the man says Gains fired a semi-automatic pistol, hitting the Maxima.

That's when he says he wrecked the Maxima into a ditch, hitting a mailbox.

According to the report, deputies found a bullet hole in the trunk of the vehicle.

The man says he ran to a nearby home and yelled for help. He says Gains got out of the car and began chasing him. He knocked down the door to the home in an attempt to escape, according to the report, yelling for the people inside to call for help.

Gains reportedly entered the home and pointed the gun at him, saying he'd shoot him if he moved.  The man ran out of the side door of the home and Gains fled the scene, the report states.

Both the man and Sanders refused medical treatment from the wreck.
