PD: Arrest made in deadly Phoenix drive-by shooting

Phoenix police have arrested a suspect in a drive-by shooting that killed two teenagers and injured four other people as a party in north Phoenix was breaking up.

Phoenix police said Carlos Rodriguez-Espinoza, 22, was arrested Monday afternoon. Phoenix police said he admitted to being involved in the crime.

Phoenix police said Jason Jonathan Acosta-Ramos, 18, died after a person in a vehicle fired into a crowd outside the party in the area of 12400 N. 25th Ave. at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

The party was a celebration of Acosta-Ramos' birthday.

Elliseo O. Cantu, 16, was also shot. He later died at the hospital. 

Another 16-year-old boy who was shot remains in extremely critical condition, while a 17-year-old and 18-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries.

A 21-year-old man also was shot but his injuries aren't believed to be life-threatening.

Rodriguez-Espinoza is being held on two counts of first-degree murder, drive-by shooting, and endangerment.
