Homicide investigation in north-west Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide/ADW Unit are conducting a homicide investigation at the 1500 block of Moretz Avenue Sunday morning. 

Metro Division patrol officers responded to an ADW call for service with one victim shot. Upon arrival they located a male subject suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.  

Detectives with the Homicide/ADW Unit are canvassing the neighborhood to determine whether there are any witnesses to this incident. The investigation is in its early stages.

    The multi-vehicle crash happened on Beatties Ford Road at McCoy Road. According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, one vehicle struck a pole. Two other vehicles were seen off of the road.
