WEATHER ALERT: Reports of trees down, power outages and tornado watch until 9 a.m.

Hello. It's Christine Nelson writing you from the newsroom. Heard the storms move through overnight? I know I did. It definitely had "attitude" as Meteorologist Al Conklin forecasted. Here's a look at what's happening now.

LIVE: A large tree fell on an apartment building in south Charlotte during the storm. It's happened at Abby Place Apartments along Park Road. WBTV's Cam Man Ron Lee will have a live report on how officials sprung into action.

We're hearing about widespread power outages up in Iredell County right now. Specifically in Troutman. In the 4 o'clock hour as many as 1,800 were reported according to Duke Energy. We'll keep tabs on what's happening there as well.

The latest tornado watch is in effect until 9 a.m. for counties east of Charlotte: Richmond, Stanly and Anson Counties. At one point Mecklenburg County was in the mix but not anymore.
