STATESVILLE, NC (WBTV) -

Fire damaged a large historic mill in Statesville Sunday, but by Monday open, it was back open.

Statesville Firefighters responded to The Bartlett Milling Company on South Center Street at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Fire Marshal told WBTV the three-alarm fire took several hours to control. Investigators said it appears the fire started when a machine was turned on, and some dust-like material caught fire.

Bartlett produces flour, feed, and other similar products.

One person was hurt, but was expected to be OK.

The Norfolk-Southern Railroad tracks next to the mill were shut down while the fire raged.
