The accident happened near the intersection of Oakdale Road and Mount Holly Huntersville Road at about 8 o'clock Friday.
Police said 27 year old Brandon Bryant was driving a 2008 Nissan, traveling southbound in the 4100 block of Oakdale Road, when he lost control of the vehicle and crossed the center line into the oncoming traffic lane. The right side of the Nissan struck the front end of a 2003 Toyota Tacoma. Police said the force of the collision flipped a car on its roof and down an embankment.
Brandon Bryant was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.
Joshua Oakley was the driver of a 2003 Toyota Tacoma traveling north on Oakdale Road when his vehicle was struck by the 2008 Nissan. Mandy Glenn was the right front passenger and a 7 year old child was the rear passenger of the 2003 Toyota Tacoma. All occupants of the Toyota Tacoma were transported to Carolina's Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained during the crash.
Detectives from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's major crash unit are investigating the accident.
