Police: Duo used cell phone, earpiece to rob mall jewelry store

Police in Pineville are looking for a duo that used electronics to help them rob a jewelry store at Carolina Place Mall.

The incident was reported at Carmel Jewelry on March 4 at 7:30 p.m., according to the report from the Pineville Police Department.

Surveillance video shows a woman walking talking to a store employee while on her cell phone.

A man is also in the store with an earpiece in his ear listening to the conversation, police say.

When the employee walks away to ring up an item, the man runs up and grabs several items out of the jewelry case, police say.

Several bracelets, charms, and gold pieces were taken.

The items taken are valued at $6,990, according to the report.
