BOILING SPRINGS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said burglars left a Boiling Springs Italian restaurant in shambles after vandalizing the interior, including contaminating the food with bleach and running off with cash.

Workers at Branzino Grill on Boiling Springs Road arrived to find the cafe destroyed Tuesday morning, according to Spartanburg County deputies.

Someone broke into the restaurant between 1 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Tuesday by breaking out a rear door's window.

The thieves tore up the inside of the restaurant, damaging everything from the tables and booths, to the ovens and stoves, along with all of the toilets in the restrooms and the ceilings, deputies said.

Along with the destruction, deputies said the burglars poured bleach and other liquids found in the restaurant onto the food, contaminating it.

Deputies said the thieves got away with cash, the registers' computers, the cafe's surveillance and their sound system.

Frances Drouzos owns the restaurant. She said she plans to re-open as soon as they can clean it up, but they will need to start from scratch since there was nothing left unharmed.

"Makes you wondering if there are such a kind of people out there, that can do so much damage to somebody else," Drouzos said.

The restaurant marquee in front of the building states an offer of a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest to the suspects.

Anyone with information about the thefts and vandalism is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
