Fire destroys home in southwest Charlotte



On Saturday around noon Charlotte Firefighters responded to an alarm for fire in south west Charlotte. 

The home located on the 12000 block of Pitty Pat Court was showing flames and smoke when responders arrived. 

Captain Rob Brisley of the Charlotte Fire Department said there were no injuries, however a dog and cat did die in the fire. 

3 people have been displaced, but Red Cross officials said they are assisting with shelter and other necessities.

The blaze that took firefighters 30 minutes to contain caused $125,000 worth of damage.
