Recipe: Easy fettuccini alfredo

1 pkg. fettuccini noodles, prepared according to package directions - or purchase fresh noodles from Charlotte's own Pasta & Provisions and cook them in boiling water for just a minute or two

1 stick butter

1 ½ cups half-and-half

1 ½ cups grated aged Parmigiana-Reggiano cheese

Pepper and nutmeg

Melt the butter in a large skillet. Add the half-and-half and heat till warmed through. Add the pasta and toss in the warm liquid. Add the grated cheese a bit at a time and continue to toss into the pasta mixture till the cheese has melted into warmed liquid. When all of the cheese has melted into the sauce, season to taste with pepper and nutmeg and serve immediately.
