Police: Employee assaulted, taped to chair during armed robbery

Police in Concord are asking for the public's assistance in identifying three men they say robbed a local store at gunpoint and taped an employee to a chair.

The robbery happened between 8 and 8:30 a.m. at the Family Dollar Store on Concord Parkway North.

A man walked into the store and occupied the store employee before pulling out a handgun. Then, two more men came in, at least one of which had a handgun as well, according to the report.

The trio then assaulted the employee and taped him to a chair before leaving the store. The employee was able to free himself and call police after the men left around 8:30 a.m., officials said.

The first man is described as a black male, in his late teens or early 20's, approximately 6' tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and black toboggan, blue athletic shoes, and was carrying a dark color backpack.

The second man is described as a black male, in his late teens or early 20's, approximately 6'tall, with a slender build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a gray hat or toboggan with red and black trim, and white bandana.

The third man is described as a black male, in his late teens or early 20's, approximately 5'8", with a medium build. He was wearing dark color hooded jacket with light color trim.

Anyone who may have seen anything related to this incident is asked to call the Concord Police Department at 704-920-5000, or Cabarrus Area Crime Stoppers at 704-93CRIME (932-7463).  A cash reward is available to anyone providing information that leads to identification and prosecution of any of the suspects involved.
