Rain moves in for holiday weekend, warmer temperatures ahead

Saturday morning was off to a rainy start, but WBTV Meteorologist Ashley Batey says we should see some sun this afternoon.

As the high pressure moves further East Saturday, more moisture will be pumped into the Carolinas. This will set the stage for our next round of rain.  Ashley says we can hold off on that second round for now.  After the morning rain moves out, we should still see a hint of sun late in the day. Even with lots of cloud cover, temperatures are forecast to climb into the low 60s.

Right now, it looks like Easter Sunday will be pretty soggy. Ashley says Sunday is the most likely day we'll see rain this week. Earlier models were showing the rain moving in after Sunday brunch, but newer models are now showing light rain on and off throughout the day. Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid 60s.

Ashley says we could see the 70s return in the forecast early next week, but they probably won't stick around long. Take a look at the 7-Day forecast here.
