People getting pumped up for free gas giveaway

Hello on this Good Friday! It's March 29. This is Christine Nelson, hoping you will rely on WBTV News This Morning to get you caught up on the stories that will make headlines today and the news that happened overnight. We're live now and streaming online until 7 a.m. so tune in or log on!

LIVE: It's back by popular demand! A local church is holding its second annual "Fuel for the Soul" gas giveaway, helping people fill up on the everyday need that has been a budget buster for many. But sometimes a good thing can cause some headaches and that is what happened last year when traffic was snagged. This year things will be a bit different. WBTV's Cam Man Ron Lee has details on the changes the church made to make the giveaway process a lot smoother for drivers.

Also, the body of a marine from Hickory arrived in North Carolina. Lance Corporal Mason Vanderwork was one of seven marines killed in that training accident in Nevada last week. We have details on his memorial service.

RIGHT NOW: North Korea's rocket units are on standby to attack U-S military bases in South Korea and the Pacific.

So much more going on so make sure you're tuning in to get all the details...and watch for your Easter weekend forecast.

See you on the air!

Christine
