Deputies: Man arrested believed to be selling drugs to high school kids


A Lenoir man was arrested on several drug charges after a raid that stemmed from an underground operation, according to the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office.

ICE Unit Agents, along with SWAT and detectives raided the home of Robert David Greene, 50, on Griffins Way in Lenoir. The raid came after an undercover officer purchased pills and marijuana from Greene at his home, deputies said.

During the raid, agents seized 17 marijuana plants, packaged marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a shotgun, and a large quantity of ammunition in Greene's home. In his vehicle, agents found more packaged marijuana, a 9mm pistol, and several hundred ammunition rounds, the report states.

The marijuana and plants seized are valued at $43,000, according to NC State Guidelines.

Agents believe, according to intelligence gathered, that Greene was supplying high school kids with marijuana and other drugs. Deputies told WBTV that school officials are working closely with law enforcement, and that more charges are likely.

Greene was arrested and charged with felonious manufacture marijuana, felonious sell marijuana, felonious deliver marijuana, felonious maintain a vehicle to keep/store a controlled substance, and two counts each of felonious possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana and felonious maintain a dwelling to keep/store a controlled substance.

He was issued a $100,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is scheduled in Lenoir District Court on March 29.
