FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -

Three men from Northern Kentucky are accused of trafficking heroin throughout the Tri-State.

Luis Meza Paez, 26, and Manuel Alejandro Piozola-Aramburo, 24, both of Florence, were arrested on Wednesday following a joint investigation between several agencies involving the sale of heroin in Ohio.

On Wednesday, Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force agents executed a search warrant at a home on Turfway Road. Agents seized several ounces of heroin and over $25,000.

Based on information from the Florence investigation, Lexington Police narcotics agents also executed a search warrant and arrested Ulises Alberto Murillo a.k.a. Antonio Bergumen-Torres, 32 of Lexington, on forged document charges. Lexington agents seized over $35,000.

Both Paez and Piozola-Aramburo were charged with trafficking heroin, a 1st degree felony. Murillo faces additional charges of trafficking heroin from the first investigation.

The suspects' charges are punishable by 5 to 10 years in prison if convicted.

    The Charlotte Area Transit System is asking City Council to approve Monday new light rail spending totaling $24.75 million. The largest request – for $12.75 million – is to settle claims from the two construction firms, Balfour Beatty and Blythe Development, which are building Segment A of the extension that’s closest to uptown.
