CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

The Charlotte Rescue Mission is offering more than a meal for Easter this year.

It's teaming up with Samaritan's Feet to wash the feet of community guests, and give out 400 pairs of shoes.

"For many of the people who will walk through our doors on Easter, these shoes will be the first new pair they will receive in years. We can't thank Samaritan's Feet enough for making this Easter extra special for our guests," said Rev. Tony Marciano, Executive Director of the Charlotte Rescue Mission.

About 45 volunteers will be set up at stations to wash the feet of those who would like it, and give out new shoes and socks.

Easter Schedule:

6 a.m. Breakfast
6 a.m. - 10 a.m. Shoe giveaway
6 a.m. - 3 p.m. Movies
9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Cell phones available to call family members
11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Midday meal

The Charlotte Rescue Mission still needs volunteers, and donations of homemade desserts to be delivered Saturday and early Sunday.

The Charlotte Rescue Mission is located at 907 West 1st Street, diagonally across the Carolina Panthers practice fields. Enter through the glassed-in security desk at the 2nd building on the left.
