Chase Ends In Crash; Supreme Court Takes On Same-Sex Marriage

Be sure to turn on your television this morning...we're following a breaking news alert out of southeast Charlotte where troopers tell us a woman led them on a chase.  That chase ended in a crash.  Cam Man Ron Lee was the first reporter on the scene...he'll join us with more information in a live report.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS!  We have several school closings this morning.  Here's what we have so far:  Ashe, Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey County Schools are all CLOSED today.  Lees-McRae College is also closed today.  We'll keep you updated on any other closings or delays throughout the show this morning!

We have new information on a student charged with bringing a loaded gun to Olympic High School in southwest Charlotte.

A major national story we're following this morning.  The U.S. Supreme Court today will hold its first major examination of gay rights in ten years.  The justices are holding a hearing on California's ban on same-sex marriage, known as Proposition Eight.

Charlotte's city council has approved an incentives plan for the Metlife insurance company worth a million dollars.  Metlife has promised to bring 13-hundred jobs to Charlotte.

SpaceX Dragon is scheduled to splash down in the Pacific Ocean later this afternoon after delivering supplies to the International Space Station.  It will leave the station just before seven this morning.
