A Burke County boy is home safe but the details surrounding his disappearance remain a mystery.
Four local agencies and various search teams searched several areas for 11-year-old Larry William Powell on Saturday afternoon. Powell's family said he was last seen on Lonnie Shuffler Street, off Pea Ridge Road, just north of Morganton.
Powell was found eight hours later, unharmed, in Avery County.
The Burke County Sheriff's Office says it is investigating and may file charges. It is not clear who they may charge in this case.
