Officers arrested a man they say was involved in a residential breaking and entering.
27-year-old Marc Robert Kirkpatrick is charged with possession of stolen property and driving with a revoked license. He is being held at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, awaiting more charges.
This all stems from a Thursday morning incident in the University area.
Patrol officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Emerald Cove Drive at about 9:19 a.m. Thursday, in reference to a breaking and entering.
The victim told officers the suspect rang her front doorbell, and when she didn't answer quickly enough, she says he went to the back of the residence and forced open the back door.
The suspect was inside the residence when he heard the victim's voice and fled.
Officers sent out a broadcast with the suspect and vehicle description.
A short time later, motorcycle officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
The victim was brought to the scene and positively identified the man stopped by officers as the suspect.
Officers say they found the victim's stolen property inside the stopped vehicle.
