LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Texas mother told deputies that she put meth in her coffee, just before giving birth, after her baby tested positive for the drug.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office, Amanda McAdams, 25, admitted to putting meth in her coffee just a couple days before giving birth because she was "tired and wore out."

According to the affidavit, McAdams tested positive for meth on Jan. 11. She tested positive again on March 6, as did the child's father, Joseph Broussard, 42.

The affidavit states McAdams admitted that she thought the drug testing for the CPS case was over, so she and Broussard snorted meth a couple days prior to the March tests.

On March 12, the baby's hair follicle test came back positive for meth.

Both are charged with state-jail felony child endangerment. They were booked in on the charges on Thursday.
