BREAKING: Three dead in Marine base shooting

Hello, it's Friday, March 22. It's Christine Nelson writing you this quick email from my desk before I go on the set. I just wanted to give you a heads up on the stories that broke overnight while you were sleeping. We're on the air live and streaming on the web from 4:30-7:00 a.m.

BREAKING: In the middle of the night, word came down on our wires about a shooting at a Marine base in Virginia. The shooter, who is a Marine, killed two people and was later found dead in the barracks where he holed himself up. New details are coming down throughout the morning. We'll cut in with new updates on just what went down.

Should the Charlotte airport be run by a regional authority? While it appears the state is having success pushing a bill forward, the city is planning to arm itself with information to keep that idea at bay. We'll tell you who city officials plan to hire, in hopes of keeping the airport running under the city's watch.

A plant that employs a lot of people in the town of Cleveland delivers some news about layoffs. For some it is a sigh of relief. We'll explain what the companies plans are for employees.
