MOORESVILLE, NC (WBTV) -
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office says it was contacted by the Department of Social Services earlier Tuesday after a 13-year-old girl told her mother she was sexually assaulted.
The teen gave detectives a statement and detectives then interviewed the suspect.
Based on the statements, detectives obtained three felony warrants for Rape of a child by an Adult Offender.
But when officers went to arrest 43-year-old Jason Brock Powers of Hopedale Court, they were unable to find him.
Powers was listed as a wanted person as officers continued to search for him.
Thursday, a Sergeant found Powers at a construction site in Mooresville and arrested him.
Powers was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
