Construction zones could hinder your weekend plans.
North Carolina Department of Transportation officials will conduct emergency repairs on Highway 73/Sam Furr Road and the eastbound lanes on Old Statesville Road, Highway 115, Friday and Saturday, 7am-4pm. Use McCord Road, Ramah Church Road or Gilead Road as options.
Expect some lane closures on Independence Boulevard in both directions at Eastway Drive and Briar Creek Road starting Friday night, 8pm, until Monday morning, 6am. Resurfacing work will continue in this area for the second consecutive weekend.
