CALDWELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

Agents with the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office Ice Unit and Criminal Investigation Division (CID) raided the home and property of a man suspected in selling and distributing methamphetamine.

Troy William Yount, Jr., 47, of Trojan Lane in Hudson, was arrested and charged with one count each of felonious trafficking in methamphetamine by possession and felonious possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana.

Ice Agents say they have been investigating Yount for the last year.

Through surveillance and undercover buys of methamphetamine from Yount while at his residence, Ice Agents said they acquired sufficient probable cause to apply for and receive the search warrant.

Yount, along with several others, were taken into custody. After an extensive search of his property, a Sheriff K-9 Officer and his dog "Bella" located a tool bag in a mobile home used for a storage building containing a large amount of individually packaged methamphetamine, the report states.

Additional amounts of meth and marijuana were also found, along with digital weighing scales, drug paraphernalia, over $4,500 in cash, five pistols, five shotguns, one SKS assault rifle and one .17 caliber rifle.

Agents later learned the .17 caliber rifle was reported stolen.

Two ounces of methamphetamine, two ounces of marijuana, and various pills were all found, deputies said.

The drugs have a total street value of over $13,000, according to North Carolina drug guidelines.

Wayne Anthony Moore, 56, was at Yount's home at the time of the search, and was charged with possession of methamphetamine after Agents found a small amount of meth in his pants pocket.

"This investigation is a perfect example of perseverance and dedication on the fight against methamphetamine," said Sheriff Alan C. Jones, adding, "We will continue our commitment to the citizens of this county."

Yount was taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center and placed under a $50,000 secured bond.  He has a first appearance in District Court in Lenoir on March 15.
