One person has died in a crash near Harrisonville, MO, Thursday evening. The crash happened on Missouri Highway 7 and Walker Road. It involved a car and a tractor-trailer. Harrisonville is in Cass County.More >>

A fire has gutted a strip mall housing a carpet store and hair salon in Gaston County.
A Gaston County police sergeant say flames started shooting out of the building on Old York Road around four Thursday morning.
Authorities tell WBTV it appears the fire started in an outbuilding and spread to the main building. They say they are investigating the fire as suspicious, based on the time it occurred.
No one was inside the building at the time the fire started. No firefighters were hurt battling the flames. Two classic cars inside the building are destroyed.
Firefighters say the flames were very intense. It took 80-thousand gallons of water to put out the fire. WBTV is told some of the water ran down the street and flooded two nearby homes.
The building is home to Roy Gunn Carpet World. Police say Mr. Gunn has been in business for 40 years. He had just put a new roof on the building.
Several homes in a neighborhood behind the strip mall were evacuated as a precaution but no damage was reported.
