TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Toledo Police Department needs your help finding a thief who they say robbed a man in central Toledo last week.

Police say the victim spotted the suspect scoping him out when he was in Subway at Lafayette and Summit grabbing a bite to eat. According to police, the suspect approached the victim after he left the restaurant and asked for a cigarette. When the victim gave him one, the suspect demanded cash. Then when the victim refused, the suspect reached into the victim's pockets and stole hundreds of dollars.

Police are hoping you can help find the man responsible based on surveillance photos.

"Hopefully it's a pretty good picture. Hopefully somebody knows who this individual is and we can put them where they belong, that's behind bars," said Sgt. Joe Heffernan with the TPD.

If you recognize the suspect or gold-colored vehicle, call CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111. You could be eligible for a reward.
