Two men are in the hospital, one accused with stabbing another at a pizza bar and restaurant early Wednesday morning.
WBTV was first on the scene at Carmella's Pizza off South Tryon Street near I-485 around 12:30 a.m.
Police say two men got in a fight about money. One claimed the other stole 100 dollars from him. Police say the person who made the accusation then pulled a knife from under his coat and repeatedly stabbed the other man.
Authorities say the fight went to the floor until the victim's friends jumped in, pulled the suspect off and beat him up.
The alleged stabber was seen on a stretcher with a couple of black eyes and a bloodied nose. Police say he is charged with assault with a deadly weapons charge. More charges are pending.
Police say alcohol did play a role in the incident.
