CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

The Charlotte Knights say BB&T Ballpark is coming along.

Construction crews put up the steel beams in the area that will be the visitors clubhouse.

"You can see the shape as it begins today" says Dan Rajkowski, the Chief Operating Officer of the Charlotte Knights. "Over the next couple of weeks you're going to see - particularly this side of the building - you're going to see it take shape. Anytime you do a project, I've seen this over course of years, when steel begins to be erected that's when the project takes on some life."

Team executives say the next phase of the steel beams will go down first base line, then the home dug-out, retail store and eventually the concourse.

The Knights say construction for the $55M BB&T Ballpark in Uptown is on budget and on time.

Team executives say if all goes according to plan, they expect to be playing ball at the stadium next year.

According to the Rajkowski, The Knights are still working on setting ticket prices.

He says club seat sales begin this month, and they're in the process of selling 18 full suites

Season ticket sales for the public will begin in June.
