Charlotte, NC - (WBTV)
Free Agency began Tuesday at 4pm, and the Panthers have not been shy about making moves.
The team announced the release of linebacker James Anderson. He played all of his 7 seasons with the Panthers, and his work extended off the field as well.
"I would like to thank James for what he has meant not only to our organization but also to this community," Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said. "James went about his business in a professional manner and did everything we asked. We wish him the best."
Anderson had 84 tackles in 2012, 2nd most on the team. In 2011, Anderson set a then-franchise record with 174 tackles.
His 94 games played for the Panthers, is the most by a linebacker in the teams history.
