Deputies: One arrested, one wanted in home invasion robbery

One man has been arrested and another is wanted for a robbery at a home in Caldwell County, according to deputies.

Around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies with the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office received a call regarding a burglary that had just occurred on Smokey Creek Road in Lenoir.

Deputies responded to the location and learned that Marcus Lee Smith had kicked in the back door of the home and robbed two people inside.

No weapons were displayed, but intimidation was used, the report states.

Officials said Smith was assisted in the crime by Dalton Nicholas Hendrix.

The duo left the home in a red Honda Civic, which was located in the area a short time later by deputies.

Smith was arrested for first degree burglary, common law robbery, and injury to real property. He was taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center and placed under a $100,000 secured bond.

Hendrix is still at large and warrants have been issued for his arrest by Sheriff's Office Detectives.

Anyone with information on Hendrix is urged to contact the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office or Caldwell/Lenoir Crime Stoppers at (828)758-8300.

All information will remain confidential.
