Closed: Popular Charlotte daycare padlocking doors at 9 a.m.

Hello. It's Monday, March 11. This is Christine Nelson, sending you this quick email from my desk in the newsroom before I go on set. Here is a look at the stories we're covering when you turn on WBTV News This Morning. Remember! You can watch our newscasts live on your smartphone, table or computer now! We're live from 4:30-7:00 a.m.

DEVELOPING: It's truly going to be a wake-up call when some parents show up at a Charlotte daycare to see the doors locked! WBTV has learned the Goddard School in northeast Charlotte will no longer be in business starting today. Why the sudden shutdown? WBTV's Cam Man Ron Lee found out why the property owners are taking this drastic step to lock the doors.

A quick heads up if you travel Independence Boulevard. At this hour, part of the lane by Eastway Drive are closed. It was like that all weekend and caused some traffic issues. We'll tell you what's going on there and when lanes will reopen this morning.

Also, some parents probably would have a hard time facing the idea they play favorites to one of their children. There are of course positive and negative effects...which could not only impact your children, but also your spouse! WBTV's Astrid Martinez has expert advice on how to level the playing field in your home.

I have to go now. See you on the air!
