GREENSBORO, NC (WBTV) -

It was western regional Saturday in Greensboro as team are now 1 win away from playing for a state championship.

We had 7 local teams trying to make it to the big game and some were successful.

Olympic would beat Mount Tabor 69-64 to advance to next Saturday's 4A state title game where they will take on Raleigh Broughton.

In the 3A western final, Statesville would beat Hunter Huss 74-71 to advance to the 3A title game where they will face Webb.

In the 2A western final, Cuthbertson beat Shelby to advance to the 2A state title game.  This is the 2nd straight year the Cavaliers beat the Golden Lions in the western final.  Cuthbertson will take on Kinston next Saturday in a rematch of last year's 2A state title game won by Kinston.

On the women's side, the defending 3A state champs, Harding, will have the chance to defend their title after a win over Tuscola on Saturday 51-50.  Next Saturday, they will take on Chapel Hill in the 3A title game.

In the 4A western final, Porter Ridge fell to Greensboro Page 46-36, but a great season for the Lady Pirates.
