Flames out, investigation continues at abandoned mill

Fire crews spent hours battling a relentless blaze at an abandoned mill in southern Cleveland County Thursday evening.

From Sky 3 above the scene, you could see lots of smoke and flames coming from the mill.

Emergency crews and viewers referred to the building as the Old Minette Mill. Some people at the scene told WBTV it's the old Cameron Mill and was a part of the Minette Mill.

"That stuff was just billowing. It was just rolling," said witness Tammy Merck.

The mill is located at Oak and Mulberry Streets, right off I-85.

Several crews from North and South Carolina responded to the blaze. Firefighters put out the last of the flames around 8 p.m. Crews expected to continue into the early morning hours.

No one was injured. Check back here for updates.
