Joe Pinyan is leaving Salisbury to take over as head football coach at Rowan County rival Carson.
Pinyan got to Salisbury back in 2003 and leaves with a record of 100-36 which includes winning seasons in all 10 years, seven conference titles, and a state title in 2010.
Carson became a school back in 2006, but they haven't had the kind of success that Pinyan had at Salisbury. The Cougars have only 2 winning seasons with NO conference titles.
The China Grove community hopes that changes with the hiring of Pinyan.
