STATESVILLE, NC (WBTV) -
A woman was arrested for stabbing a man after a domestic dispute, according to the Statesville Police Department.
Wednesday morning officers responded to a reported stabbing at an apartment in the 800 block of West End Avenue. While en route to the location, Statesville Police Tele-communicators relayed a description of the female believed to be involved in the incident.
Officers located a female matching the suspect's description near West End Avenue and Race Street. They detained the woman, later identified as Keely Rae Middleton, 22, while other responding officers arrived on scene and located the victim who had been stabbed, the report states.
The victim, Telley Turner, 29, of Statesville, was taken to Iredell Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Winston Salem for treatment of his injuries.
Police said Middleton and Turner had been in a dating relationship, and had gotten into an argument which resulted in Turner being stabbed.
Middleton was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious Injury.
She was taken before a magistrate and was held at the Iredell County Jail on no bond, due to the fact that the incident was domestic related.
