Report: Car broken into hours after armed robbery in CMC parking deck

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A car was broken into and items taken from it in the second incident in 24 hours at Carolinas Medical Center.

A 25-year-old male told police that when he went to his car in the employee parking deck around 9 a.m., the driver's side window was smashed, according to the report from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Cash money had been taken out of the car.

Damage to the car is estimated at $250.

This is the second incident in a CMC parking deck in less than 24 hours.

At 1 a.m. on Tuesday, a woman was robbed at gunpoint in a parking deck as she was leaving the hospital, at 1000 Blythe Boulevard.

The suspects fled with the woman's purse containing several personal items. Two of the suspects ran out of the parking deck onto Scott Avenue. The third suspect drove the SUV out of the parking deck and picked up the other two suspects, then drove away.
