CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
A woman was arrested after stealing a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer's vehicle while the officer responded to a call, according to CMPD.
The incident happened Monday just before 6:30 p.m. in southeast Charlotte.
Officers were responding to a call for service near the intersection of Idlewild Road and Idlebrook Drive. While they were handling the call a woman, later identified as Kacie Leandia Nelson, 27, stole one of the officers' vehicle, police said.
Nelson then drove the patrol car to the 9000 block of East Independence Boulevard, about 4.5 miles away, where she parked the car and began walking.
That's when, police said, she was caught and arrested without incident.
Any charges Nelson may be facing have not been released.
