CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
Police say they have arrested a man in connection to an early morning shooting at the NC Music Factory on Monday.
Harold Radford Porter, 32, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, according to a news release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Emergency sirens pierced the early morning silence Monday as reports came in from a nightclub of a shooting around 3 a.m. along Hamilton Road just outside of the Center City.
One man was loaded into an ambulance and rushed to Carolinas Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the gut.
Police said he is expected to survive.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said an altercation between two men who knew each other spiraled out of control when one man grabbed a gun and shot the other.
Crime scene investigators were on scene collecting evidence and talking to witnesses trying to get a step-by-step idea of what happened.
Officers were seen carting a woman off in handcuffs, although it's not clear yet why.
