CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Folks walking the dog or grabbing their morning paper may have noticed a return of snowflakes to the Carolinas. Flurries began to fall from the clouds early Saturday morning here in the Queen City as temperatures fell and lower levels of the atmosphere moistened.
Even with temperatures slightly above freezing, flakes managed to reach the surface. However, with temperatures in the mid 30s and warm ground, sticking is unlikely in the Piedmont.
Widespread accumulations are not expected outside the mountains, but higher elevations could see 1-3 inches of snow could fall before the system moves out Saturday night.
