CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

NC DMV Deputy Commissioner of Motor Vehicles Randy Dishong will be on hand Saturday morning, March 2, at the West Charlotte driver license office to launch the first Saturday hours at DMV.

The West Charlotte office joins offices in North Raleigh and Greenville to be among the first to initiate the weekend hours.

The office will be open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to Noon.

Most regular driver license services, including regular road tests, will be offered during this time, with the exception of CDL skills tests, medical re-exams and motorcycle skills tests.

Beginning Monday, March 4, the West Charlotte office will also be open for an additional hour on Monday to Friday afternoons, from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. Testing services will be available until 5:30 p.m., but regular road tests will not be administered during rush hour.

Over the coming months, DMV will announce the participation of additional offices offering extended hours.
