Charlotte seniors get down with Harlem Shake video

The Harlem Shake is one of the hottest things on the internet right now, love it or hate it.

From college swim teams to Daytona 500 winners to the average American, it seems like just about everyone has their own version.

But one group in Charlotte has a version that is just slightly different than the rest.

Introducing... the seniors at the Atria MerryWood Retirement Living Community, in Charlotte.

The video shows a member of the Atria MerryWood staff, Richard, dancing in the middle of a group of seniors.  Next thing you know, there are dozens of swinging seniors dancing around the room in leis and Mardi Gras-styled masks.

One of the highlights in the video is 90-year-old Ceil Shuback who dances in the front of the group with her walker.

"God put me on Earth to make people happy," Shuback told WBTV's Kristen Hampton during an interview on Thursday.

Hear why the seniors and staff wanted to remake the popular video on WBTV News at 6:00 p.m. during Kristen Hampton's "Good News" segment.
